This unit requires a tv input. I have a HDTV antenna and receive free tv. I used a coax cable to tap off the tv input and sent the signal into my computer card ATI WONDER 600 PCI PC TV TUNER.
Now I can watch the late tv shows on the monitor with morning coffee because the software lets me program and record a days or a weeks worth of shows on the computer.
