(More customer reviews)I purchased the Tivax STB-T12 based on good reviews of the t9 and t8 and the documentation on the T12 at the Tivax website. If you have a non-directional antenna like rabbit ears this may be a good converter for you since overall it did seem to perform well with the brief use that I made of it. If you have a directional antenna like me you will probably want some other converter that allows you to do an "add scan" or has the ability to manually add channels. With the T12 every time you rotate the antenna you have to do a scan in order to pick up the channels from the new direction. It takes 3+ minutes to do a scan and it deletes any previously scanned channels that it doesn't find in the new direction. I spent several hours trying to do the "add scan" and to manually add channels as described in the FAQ on the Tivax website. I finally sent an email to tivax.com describing my problem. To their credit they responded the next day. They said they were "sorry" but the T12 did not have the ability to do an "add scan" or manually enter channels and that, oops, the references on their website were for the T8 and T9 which did have those features. By the way they don't even list the old T8 or T9 on their website any more. I returned the T12 and got a refund.
