(More customer reviews)I bought this combo tv at the local best buy after waiting too long in line at Circult city for what I really wanted. We all know they fired all the good CC salespeople and what happened to them. Anyway, I wanted a small unit to used with exercise DVDs. First of all, this unit is very slow to switch channels and makes more whirs and beeps than R2D2. A lot of times it doesn't seem to receive the signal from the remote, and has a mind of its own in selecting channels. You can't watch it from the floor, the colors wash out unless direct in line with the screen. But the biggest problem: in less than a year, my DVDs started acting up. First I cleaned the DVDs, including some from Netflix, but when even new DVDs started freezing up, I found I could play them through this TV with a separate DVD player. So it's the tv's built in player, not the DVDs. The DVD player in these thin screen tvs seem very delicate. I would certainly stay away from insignia in future and would not buy another combo - will go for separate components with some durability. Stick with Toshiba, Sony, Panasonic, etc. And go by the reviews, if you (and the reviewers) can keep up with the ever-changing models!!
