I have four televisions. Two are digital and just needed an antenna when I canceled cable. Two are older and needed convertor boxes. I bought this GE antenna for my older set because I wanted to get a better signal since it was not a digital set. I scanned properly using the instructions for scanning channels. At first I was not getting the channels. I re-read my instructions and you have to scan the channels using the Convertor remote control. After I did that, I ended up having 52 channels for free. Granted, two things. First off I am in the Orlando metro area so I am close to a lot of the towers. Secondly, some of the weaker channels freeze up. I do get about 30 out of 52 channels at better qaulity than I was getting through the cable company. Just 6 months of not paying for cable will pay for my 4 antennas and two convertor boxes and I don't have to worry about the cable going out. I would recommend this antenna. Out of the 3 I currently own ( I need to buy one more for other tv ) this is by far the most impressive. This one has the amplification and really helps. Not sure what issues the other rater was having but one of three things must be going on with them. #1 they live outside of signal area #2 they are not properly scanning the channels or setting up the system or #3, like they said, maybe theirs is defective.
