(More customer reviews)I was quite happy with this antenna; it's really slim (if not for the fact that you will have two giant antennas sticking out from it). You can mount it on your wall which was the route I took, but if not a metal arm is in the back that will bend out and let it stand on a flat surface. Like the title says if you spend extra most of that will be sunk into the body of the product, it's not going to get you better signal necessarily. This antenna takes all signal types and worked really well (first scan with it got me 32 channels). But to return to price, because it is so cheap, it does not feel super hefty or anything. It's pretty light and plastic feeling.
Other than that, which is such a minute problem, I was super happy with it. BUY!
