Upgraded from rabbit ears and a 20-inch CRT TV to a Toshiba 32-inch LCD and this antenna. Unfortunately, this gave us fewer channels than the rabbit ears did.
I liked the sleekness of the antenna, plus the option to hang, lay flat or prop up, plus the price was comparable to other antennas here on Amazon.com.
We had used the website that folks mention using to find out what OTA channels you can get - antennaweb.org is one of the many ones out there.
We do live within 4 miles of a major airport, and there is a 2 story apartment building directly behind our house, so that probably accounts for the poor reception.
Please note that is is a powered antenna, so you have to plug it in, and most importantly **turn it on** the on/off switch is on the attached easel stand as are the power jack plug in and USB port. You'll know the unit is on as a blue light shows up on the lower left hand corner (as you face the front of the unit) of the antenna. We neglected to note that for the first hour or so of use.
We rated this as a 3 as it seemed to be average for our purposes, hopefully for more people it will be a 5 :)
