Remote-controlled Multi Directional Outdoor HDTV Antenna UHF/VHF 360 Degree Rotation Review

It claims to have 125 miles of range, I don't think thats quite true but it is good enough to pick up signals from the nearest towers 40-50 miles away, but somedays it will pick up a certain station and other days it won't and it doesn't hold a signal strength any higher than 65, and usually holds a signal strength around 40. In the products defense I do live in a heavily wooded area with many many tall trees stretching above the height of the antenna, which I am aware probably plays a role in the low signal strength but to what extent I don't really know.

I am replacing a gigantic traditional antenna with this one. In order to get the best coverage in my vacation cabin area, I need to mount this in the top of a tree to "see" over the surrounding hilltops. This antenna seems to work very well with performance better than the one it is replacing. The only reason I am not giving it a higher rating is the plastic construction of the main body and mounting area. I am not at all sure how well this will hold up to the weather and UV.

Lava HD-2605 UHF/VHF HDTV Antenna with Remote Control Review

Lava HD-2605 UHF/VHF HDTV Antenna with Remote Control

We get 22 channels and we are 80 miles from the nearest transmitters. All the channels are clear, crisp, HDTV national channels and a few local channels. Install took about 20 minutes after assembly. All we used was a Phillips screw driver. Once mounted, with the directional motor, we aimed it perfectly for best reception. The 30 feet of cable provides lots of options for mounting on your roof top.We really didn't even need a tall pole, but we put it atop a 10 foot one inch pole. This will work on your RV or boat too, it doesn't have to be mounted too high.Cable TV is fine, but this will pay for itself in one month, so we were sold.

easy to setup and get going. Although i would not have minded buying the mast along with the antenna and an amplifier but they did'nt come with it. other then that we were able to get 20 channels v.s. the 2 we used to have with an indoor antenna.

Channelmaster CM-3018 UHF/VHF/FM TV Antenna Review

Channelmaster CM-3018 UHF/VHF/FM TV Antenna
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After much research and trying the Winguard antenna that DirectTV sells, plus an amplified indoor antenna from Radio Shack, I did my research and came upon this gem.
I live 36.7 miles from the transmiting station and have never been able to receive ABC off the air in HD. My receiver showed about 23% reception with the DirectTV antenna. Upon installing this antenna and pointing on the correct azimuth, my ABC reception went to over 90%. I flawlessly get all the major networks off the air and in HD.
I also found this model about ten bucks cheaper at my local Lowes store.
If you're using the antennaweb.org to determine your antenna needs, this one prints the colored pie chart right on the box, which the outdoor Radio Shack antenna did not do. They also print the db gain on the spec page on channel master's website. BTW, this one covers all the way to the Violent range.
I noticed that Channel Master's web page specs showed a range of 40 miles for this antenna, but when I picked it up at Lowes the box said 30 miles. Being 36.7 miles away I was worried....needlessly. Reception is excellent.
The only draw back is the size. My wife nearly fainted when I put this thing on the roof. She thinks I'm trying to contact an alien mothership or something. Actually, once it was on the roof on my 2 story house it didn't look too bad. If the HOA complains I do have room in the attic to put it.

Supersonic SC-609 360o HDTV Digital Amplified TV Motorized Rotating Antenna Review

Supersonic SC-609 360o HDTV Digital Amplified TV Motorized Rotating Antenna
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This antenna works well and gets a very clear HD signal. It doesn't actually rotate a full 360 degrees (so there's no real risk of winding the coaxial cable as the previous review suggests). It rotates in one direction, stops and then rotates in the other, with a total coverage of about 340-350 degrees.
The one problem I do have is the poor instructions that come with the antenna. All in all the installation wasn't hard and was pretty logical but the instructions didn't help much. Also, the stem of the antenna felt a bit flimsy/wobbly when I installed it but it's held up fine so far.
As I mentioned before, the HD signal is very good and stable. For the low one-time price, it's a great alternative to monthly cable fees.

well its not a bad product it does receive quite a few channels even in my room which i thought was an rf cage at first couldn't get any channels in previously but as stated the motor is flaky on both the control box and the remote you push a button to go one way it will go but you push the button for the other way it will continue to go the previous direction and the instructions are flaky so moving on the part that actually makes contact with the mast the base of the antenna which is also where the motor for the device is located its not standard most masts are at least 1.25" in diameter and the inner diameter is about an inch so for that problem i bought a copper reducer at the local lowes from the plumbing section 1 1/4" to 3/4" i would not go higher because its snug as is keep that in mind the coaxial is cheap and shotty as well use at your own risk if your buying this for the antenna as i did you should be good the coax in my opinion is worse than the dollar tree variety rolled it up a couple times unrolled it would not received signal cut the end off only to see that its an extremely thin inner conductor yeah so get your own coax rg6 quad shielded recommended if you do this outside don't forget to follow nec codes 10AWG bare copper wire for ground both on ground block(lightning arrestor for coax) and the mast. Also if you need to put in another ground rod 8 foot recommended but you must bond with the main electrical ground rod for the house 6 AWG bare copper wire should do. Other than that the antenna looks great and does do a heck of a job at receiving channels but be careful with the control box its also on the cheap side not to mention its also the amplifier

Terk HDTVO Amplified HDTV Antenna Review

Terk HDTVO Amplified HDTV Antenna
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wasn't sure if I need a big antenna or not...the most distant station is 35 miles away...but one of the stations I wanted to receive shows in the Blue (on the antenna wheel) on [...]. The Terk HDTVo shows it can handle signals out to the Blue area...so I bought it. Took me all of 30 minutes to attach it to my Dish Satellite mast (mounted it just a bit lower than the actual dish on my roof) and run the RG6 to my old Cable TV hook up outside the house. I let my Dish 811 receiver do a channel scan and every local station that is available in my area was captured. I clicked to each station and all but one of them comes in at 89-92 on the scale of 100. I have one weak channel which hovers between 69 and 72...but the picture is perfect. I can now watch HD channels for free with this great little antenna. I had considered the Wingard Square shooter and the Sensor 2200...but neither of those claimed to get a signal from the mid/far range (blue on the little antenna wheel on the box). The Terk delivered on it's range..in fact..the station that is the weakest is actually closer than the channel that I was worried about (I think the issue may be one channel is using less broadcasting wattage and it may be a bit off axis from the dead-center of the antenna). The only caution I can give with this antenna is, it is very directional. That means...all your TV station transmitters have to be in a very narrow corridor for this antenna to grab them all. I'd guess if they were spread more than 20 degrees you may have trouble getting a strong signal on all the stations. I'm not done tinkering with the antenna yet. I may try and put a short extension on my dish mast and boost this antenna above the actual Dish to see if I can't increase the signal strength on the weakest channel.
Terk claims..the higher you go with this antenna..the better the signal.

Terk SIR6 Sirius Outdoor Home Antenna Review

Terk SIR6 Sirius Outdoor Home Antenna
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The SIR-6 is a must-have for home listening. Our house has a lot of large trees that made getting a good signal with the standard antenna a real problem. With the SIR-6 the signal strength meter is at maximum all the time. I just attached the antenna to the facia board near the edge of the roof and ran the coaxial cable through a 7/16" hole drilled through a basement window frame. Then I ran the wire through a similar hole in the floor behind the entertainment center. You barely notice the antenna and the signal is perfect all the time.
The unit also comes with U-bolts for attachment to an existing antenna mast or other pole. I found assembly, installation, and adjustment to be easy; Took me about an hour including getting the ladder out. Simple hand tools are required and I used a drill/driver to drive the four included wood screws. Standard coax staples (the ones used with TV cable) worked perfectly for attaching the wire neatly to the side of the house.
The SIR-6 appears to be well made and should stand up to the weather. A rubber boot covers the outdoor connector so water shouldn't be a problem. I'll let you know if snow or ice is a problem.
We use our satellite radio at home most of the time so a good signal is essential. With the SIR-6 installed there's never a problem.
UPDATE: Snow and ice have not been a problem. With two storms so far (1 all snow, 1 snow and freezing rain) the reception has been perfect. The snow stuck right on top of the antenna and collected several inches thick and still no problem. This is definitely the way to go if you listen at home.
