QUANTUM FX ANT-105 (ANT105) TV Remote-Controlled Rotating ANTENNA (DTV & HDTV Ready) Review

QUANTUM FX ANT-105 (ANT105) TV Remote-Controlled Rotating ANTENNA (DTV and HDTV Ready)
Average Reviews:

Very poor quality. Made in China, that's maybe why.
1. The rotating motor broke in five minutes after installation!!! So, I simply rotated it to right position by hands and fixed that with couple screws. It is not rotating anymore.
2. Feels fragile, doubt it survive this winter.
3. Reception is OK but I would expect much better effect (it's roof installation after all). Still don't get those channels, which showed 30% signal before on my homemade antenna in attic.
So, I just wasted $26 paid for this crap, as it is not worthwhile to return and pay for shipping. Stay away from this product.

Winegard MS-2002 HDTV Antenna without Cable Review

Winegard MS-2002 HDTV Antenna without Cable
Average Reviews:

I live in a suburb with some stations broadcasting from 17 miles north and some from 22 miles south. Directional antennas won't work for me without a rotor and constant hassle. The Metrostar works great. It pulls in every station listed on Antennaweb with great signal strength, and it does so while hiding in my attic.
I chose this over a Channel Master CM3000A antenna because one station in my area is broadcasting digitally on VHF channel 7, and at least one site I checked said the CM3000A was only designed to pick up UHF frequencies. I'm definitely happy with the results I'm getting.

Terk HD-TVS Slim-Profile Outdoor HDTV Antenna Review

Terk HD-TVS Slim-Profile Outdoor HDTV Antenna
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had previously purchased the Terk Amplified Indoor HDTV antenna, somehow believing the word "amplified" meant that I would have better reception. It worked well when you could get it arranged well, usually this meant getting it as near the ceiling as I could manage and pointing it out a window, which worked great . . . when you could hold it there. It would not pick up many channels without reorienting, at one point it was even used with a cable running to another room just to get better reception. After purchasing a new LG 42" HDTV for the living room, I knew I'd need something more capable.
I was immediately interested in the Terk HD-TVS Slim Profile antenna just for its looks--it literally looks like no other antenna I've seen. Still, I was of a mind to be cautious after the previous experience with a Terk product and kept looking. Most of the higher rated outdoor antennas I saw were from Terk, so I came back to look it over once more. Other more typical antennas cost a lot less, but with my location and yard, I really wanted to get something mounted on the house; the roof at my home was still in the process of being renovated, and I didn't want to mar the fresh work by mounting it there when it was done either, that meant that I would likely be mounting it high on an outer wall. Once I had decided that, I have to be honest that I had decided upon the HD-TVS just for its looks alone. I could only envision the larger, forked antennas as looking tacky on the side of my home.
When it arrived I decided to try a quick test by replacing the indoor amplified antenna that had required so much waving around. Just setting this thing on the floor of the bedroom, I immediately managed to tune every local channel. The antenna is actually very light, probably a lot lighter than you think. It is roughly the same size as a DirecTV dish but about half the weight. Like many other users here, I consulted antennaweb.org for a good location, and now the antenna sits just beside a chimney under an awning. It took a couple of additional tilts in order to lock in a strong signal on two stations which are at the same angle from my house, as a bit unexpectedly, when adjusting for one, the other dropped just under 50% strength, but as of this writing I'm pulling in every local station at excellent strength. My place is in a rural area with LOTS of trees so I had been concerned about this after reading another review here, but with local stations between 20.7 and 28.3 miles away I'm thrilled with the reception. Best of all I don't look like a kook with a short wave radio in my house. I may never notice when analogue stations get pulled from the air, just because the DTV signal is so excellent with this antenna, highly recommended.

Remote-controlled Multi Directional Outdoor HDTV Antenna UHF/VHF 360 Degree Rotation Review

Remote-controlled Multi Directional Outdoor HDTV Antenna UHF/VHF 360 Degree Rotation
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It claims to have 125 miles of range, I don't think thats quite true but it is good enough to pick up signals from the nearest towers 40-50 miles away, but somedays it will pick up a certain station and other days it won't and it doesn't hold a signal strength any higher than 65, and usually holds a signal strength around 40. In the products defense I do live in a heavily wooded area with many many tall trees stretching above the height of the antenna, which I am aware probably plays a role in the low signal strength but to what extent I don't really know.

HDTV Remote Controlled Rotating Antenna Review

HDTV Remote Controlled Rotating Antenna
Average Reviews:

Heartland America shipped the antenna immediately and came with all the parts and on time. The only issue was the Silicon Scientific installation sheets (guide?) that did not describe the installation steps in clear detailed format. I had to contract a TV antenna person to decipher the instructions steps but there were four aluminum strips connected to the main antenna that not even him could figure out what to do with them. Also, I was unable to locate Silicon Scientific in the web to obtain any installation assistance.

I was kind of expecting cheap Chineses junk at this price, but I was wrong. I received this product and was blown away. Packaging looks great, and everything in the box is branded Vortex HD. I got it installed on a 1" mast pole and everything works great. It picks up all the channels I want without any rotation generally. If I need it to rotate I can use the remote and it works as advertised. It is pretty low profile up on my roof, the black color makes it blend into my shingles. Great product.

I am replacing a gigantic traditional antenna with this one. In order to get the best coverage in my vacation cabin area, I need to mount this in the top of a tree to "see" over the surrounding hilltops. This antenna seems to work very well with performance better than the one it is replacing. The only reason I am not giving it a higher rating is the plastic construction of the main body and mounting area. I am not at all sure how well this will hold up to the weather and UV.

Remote Controlled HDTV Outdoor Antenna UHF/VHF 360 Degree Rotation Review

Remote Controlled HDTV Outdoor Antenna UHF/VHF 360 Degree Rotation
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
There is no way to tell when the antenna is rotating. I had to mount this inside, hanging from my living room ceiling to be able to tell when it rotates. And it often does not rotate at all and I have to rotate it by hand. It does improve reception, but usually does not rotate even when the light on the remote control shows that it should be rotating. Also does not always rotate in the direction it should. When it should rotate clockwise, it will often rotate counter clockwise, and vice-a-versa. Do not mount this where you cannot see how it rotates, because it just does not consistantly rotate correctly or at all, which happens more than 60% of the time. This product would not be worth more than $20.00.

Outdoor HDTV Yagi Antenna with Motor Rotor, WA-2605 Review

Outdoor HDTV Yagi Antenna with Motor Rotor, WA-2605
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I want to tell all you non believers out there, this is the best HDTV antenna I've ever used. Found out new RV I purchased had a omnidirectional antenna that was suppose to be adequate. No so true. It was only good for a 25 mile radius. Didn't work well at all. Only able to bring in a few channels and did not include ABC channel. After receiving and setting up the WA-2605, can now pull in 45-48 channels including all local channels. Really like being able to remote rotate and view signal strength on TV to really max out the signal coming in. This HDTV antenna has been a real treat and love the 150 mile range. Can actually pull in west coast stations across the state from Tampa to Daytona Beach. The shipment was sooner than expected, and setup was elementary. I recommend this antenna to all that a need a product that truly works as advertised and is priced right.

Terk TV44 Amplified Clip-on Outdoor TV Antenna for Dual LNB Satellite Dishes Review

Terk TV44 Amplified Clip-on Outdoor TV Antenna for Dual LNB Satellite Dishes
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Nowhere in the description or packaging does it say that this antenna requires a satellite multiswitch. A multiswitch is used for systems using more than 1 TV/receiver. The antenna amplification comes from the satellite multiswitch, and without amplification, this antenna is no better than a pair of simple rabbit ears.
This antenna may work great for those with multi-room satellite setups, but it was worthless for me.

The limitations of satellite TV have often revolved around local programming, which satellite providers occasionally don't offer (depending on where you live) or charge for on a per-receiver basis. The Terk TV44 amplified TV antenna remedies this impasse by giving dish owners free, constant access to all programming transmitted over the local airwaves, including HD channels and community stations. The antenna installs easily--simply clip it on your existing satellite dish (no tools required) and it's ready to go. Once installed, its high-quality internal amplifier minimizes signal loss, further aiding the antenna's highly tuned and efficient receiving elements. The end result is the best reception possible whether you're enjoying VHF or UHF stations or HD channels. The TV44 is also weather-resistant, meaning it doesn't wear down easily.
The antenna is compatible with all mini-dish systems (which generally measure 18 by 20 or 24 inches) with dual LNBs. It also comes with all the necessary cables.
What's in the Box TV44 antenna, four 32-inch coaxial cables, eight 12-inch coaxial cables, user's manual.

TERK FDTVO Omni Directional Amplified Flat Outdoor HDTV Antenna (Silver) Review

TERK FDTVO Omni Directional Amplified Flat Outdoor HDTV Antenna (Silver)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After buying other antennas (and returning them) I must admit I was cautious about this one. I live near the mountains in a semi-rural location and some of the major broadcast stations are over 50 miles away. It was therefore a nice surprise that when I hooked this one up, not only did I get all the network stations, I got them from indoors just by putting the antenna on my living room windowsill. That's where it's been ever since, and even though the picture breaks up from time to time (bad storm, clouds, etc.) the overall clear picture and wide range are worth it. I get all the digital broadcast channels for my area, but I'm sure if it were outside, I'd receive even more. It's well worth the money, especially since Best Buy sells it for 119.99.

DIGITAL HD TV READY ANTENNA 360 ROTATING VHF UHF REMOTE Review

DIGITAL HD TV READY ANTENNA 360 ROTATING VHF UHF REMOTE
Average Reviews:

Over all this device works only as well as a non-directional antenna. The construction is cheap PVC plastic and aluminum. The prewired 50' cable is of poor quality although it has "High Quality" printed on the sides. The casings are also cheap. Operationally the device works as advertised, but as I said earlier, my old style radioshack antenna works as well.
Given the poor quality, I can't say I would recomend this device.

LAVA UHF/VHF Outdoor HDTV Antenna with Motor Rotor HD-2805 Review

LAVA UHF/VHF Outdoor HDTV Antenna with Motor Rotor HD-2805
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I live in Santa Clara, CA -- 45 miles south of San Francisco (where most of the local channels broadcast for us). I moved into a duplex (apartment) during a remodel, and I needed a video feed when the Olympics were on this summer. Standard indoor antennas weren't working for me. I found this compact, amplified antenna on the web. So I bought it, and mounted it on a 7' piece of 3/4" PVC pipe in our living room (rental and all...) and secured it in the corner of our living room. It worked great. We got well over 50 channels of free broadcast HDTV). These included NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, PBS and a whole host anything from independent stations to foreign-language channels. (Warning: we found that at least 2 channels were dedicated to cartoons 24 hours a day, which didn't make bedtime for our youngster any easier.) Admittedly...using this indoors, some of the channels briefly dropped video resolution occasionally, but it rarely seemed to be an issue with "local" channels. I can only guess how well this would have worked had I mounted it outside.
It's small enough to easily fit in an attic, so depending on what kind of roof you have...you might find it works great from there. It's light and easy to handle. I don't know how well it will weather a windstorm (it seems sturdy enough), but years of UV exposure to the plastic parts is a question mark. But for 4 months or so now it has worked great for us from our living room. In my book, it has already paid for itself.
